Local residents have reported that the Home Depot stores in both Folsom and Rancho Cordova have set up a large display inside the front of the stores asking their shoppers to fill out ballots to support a store in Amador County / Jackson. Obviously there is no information available in regards to the controversy surrounding this issue, the ballot only allows a "yes" vote. There is no way to vote "no".
This is typical of the kind of tactics that Depot will use and is indicitive of the manner of actions they are capable of. It would not be surprsing if they attempt to turn this poll into some sort of a "definitive study of sales leakage in Amador County" or something like this. It will be interesting to watch how this little game of theirs plays out. This is not only a "ballot" but it also attempts to identify and enlist people who will speak at some future meeting. A public meeting that will no doubt take place as this contentious issue progresses through the approval process.
Here is how the ballot reads:
YES! I support the Home Depot store proposed for Jackson.
